Death Watch (Death to the Xeno Scum!)

"Amongst a hundred men, there may be none fit for the Adeptus Astartes. Amongst a hundred Space Marines, there may be one fit for the Deathwatch."
— Watch Captain Brand

Next up....Death Watch!

The Deathwatch are a unique and specially trained Space Marine Chapter that dedicates its every hour to Xenos hunting. They are the Chamber Militant of the Ordo Xenos, charged with protecting it in its search of information, containment, and ultimate destruction of all xeno species.

This post is going to be just a few pictures. Most of the lore is in the links above if your interested in a quick read.

So, the beginnings of my death Watch warband is rather small, but the models that I picked up for it were just too good to be anything else! With a few bitz from a Grey Knight box set I made them into true Death Watch Centurions!

Not much more to say that these pictures can't. Hope you enjoy them!

Send the Eighth!

"My Sons, the Galaxy is burning. We all bear witness to a final truth -- our way is not the way of the Imperium. You have never stood in the Emperor's Light, Never worn the Imperial Eagle, and you never will. You shall stand in Midnight clad, your claws forever red with the lifeblood of my Father's failed Empire, warring through the centuries as the Talons of a murdered God. Rise, my sons, and take your wrath across the stars, in my name, in my memory. Rise, my Night Lords."

---The Primarch Konrad Curze, at the final gathering of the VIII Legion.

The Night Lords were originally the VIII Legion of Space Marines created during the First Founding and became one of the 9 Traitor Legions of Chaos Space Marines that betrayed the Emperor of Mankind during the Horus Heresyof the 31st Millennium. They do not worship any of the four Chaos Gods individually, but acknowledge them equally in the form of Chaos Undivided as they ruthlessly spread terror and fear amongst the galaxy's inhabitants. The Night Lords are experts in the use of terror tactics to win battles and demoralise their foes before the main combat even begins.

Here's a link to the Legions History if any of you are interested.

So, Today I've finally finished my five man squad of Night Lords! The paint job may look simple, and sound simple on paper but damn did it take a while!

For these guys I decided, after giving their squad captain a vampiric head, that they have been blessed by Slaanesh, the Dark God of Excess. They are vampires of a sort, not needing the life blood of humans to survive, but gaining pleasure from the act of drinking of them dry. Imagine this ...

Plummeting out of the sky to impale you on those long electric claws and then sucking every drop of blood from your body! Pretty messed up, and it works perfectly for the Night Lords I put together.

They were a blast to paint and I hope you all enjoy them!

Arbites! Time for DREDD!

Let the Imperial train continue!

This time i'm going to talk about another one of my Imperial ventures, the Arbites. Now, if you don't know bout the Arbites, the short answer to what they are is; Space Police. Much akin to Judge Dredd, they dispense justice swiftly and brutally. For more info on the go here.

I've started a small squad for now, and since the base models from Necromunda are becoming increasingly hard to get, I opted for a more modern approach to their look and, as an added bonus, these guys are plastic.Dreamforge Games Eisenkern Stormtroopers . Also, they are fairly cheap, so that makes it even better!

Still have a few to paint, but if you recall from my last post about the Tempestus Scions, the extra bits are great for fluffing out other squads. I used the Commander Coat from the Scion sprue for the Arbites judge and quite a few heads that actually fit perfectly on these guys to give them a bit more individuality considering the Arbites enjoy quite a lot of freedom in what they choose to wear. Not to mention it adds a great dynamic in the squad.

These Dreamforge Games Eisenkern Stormtroopers are a great choice as an alternative to quite a few things in 40k. I' also using ten of them as Arbites who have given themselves to Chaos for my Cultist warband.

(For the Dark Gods!)

Well that's it for this time! Drop me some comments if you have any ideas or something to add!

No one expects the Inquisition!

Little break from Chaos to show off some of my Inquisition models and talk a bit about the lore i'm working into them!

So, I just recently picked up a box of Tempestus Scions just to check them out. If any of you are working on Imperial Guard or Arbites like I am this box is for sure the way to go. The amount of Bitz left over is a great way to really fluff out pretty much anything imperial other than space marines.

(Volley Gun FTW!)
For these guys I went with the 55th Alphic Hydras

Turns out, these guys are used rather frequently alonside the inquisition, so it was a good choice on my part. I was actually unaware when I picked them up, but it has worked in my favor. Now to just pick up these guys and start up my inquisitorial warband!

Typhus and Friends!

(Board up your houses!)
(Not sure I want to know what he's beckoning to with that hand)
Finished my Typhus! Real happy with this one, not to mention his Zombie Horde!
(11 down, 19 to go!)

If anyone is interested in getting some CHEAP zombies of their own go grab These guys. Super cheap, and they have a good variety of modern zombies in the box. The molds are a little janky, but with a bit of modelling know-how they work amazingly.

I'm actually planning on using the fluff from the Vile Savants for my Zombie horde. Maybe grab this guy to use as patient Zero. If your interested in the lore of the Vile Savants and my reasoning behind their use, the link entitles "Vile Savants" Should give some good insight into it. I love 40K Fluff, but man does it shred the wallet trying to get it all right!
Any ideas or comments? I would love to hear them! Also, if anyone has any ideas on bio-suited zombies I could really use some ideas, or links to pre-made ones to use as Vile Savants.

So it Begins!

So, i've decided that I need to finally update my 20k points of Chaos after 4 years of sitting around in boxes. The paint jobs are God awful!
 (Not to mention Dusty!)

As of today the project begins! I'm going to start off working on my nine Thousands Sons marines, four Raptors, and 5 Night Lord marines.

(Nice side note to remember, ye olde Midnight Blue stains the crap out of plastic minis. Who knew?)

I've decided that i'm going to do up some Night Lords to test out my skills on fine detail, not to mention I love their lore. After a few test schemes I've come up with one that i'm going to keep.

Really simple too if your interested in doing it yourself.
